When your bike is new it will need to settle down, and just like a new car it needs to be treated gently at first.

After a few weeks the gear and brake cables may stretch a little causing the brakes to become a little softer and the gears not to change so nicely.

This is normal stuff and is easily corrected with a little adjustment. The gears and brakes have adjustment screws built into them for this very purpose.

If you feel confident to make these adjustments yourself, click on our maintenance page for help and advice, alternatively call our help desk on 01280 236 540 and we will do it for you, free of charge.

You should check your bike regularly and make any adjustments that may become necessary to keep it in full working order.

Keep an eye on the brakes, they wear slowly and you get used to them so you may not be aware that they are not as effective as they were when the bike was new.

Once a year, book it to our service department for a complete and comprehensive service.

Dont forget to clean it.

A bike that is all shiny and clean seems to go better and it will certainly look better. Never wash it with a hose or power wash. Just use some soapy water and a soft brush, or better still some bike cleaner. And when it is clean, a little bike oil on the chain and gears will keep your bike running sweetly.

Check over the tyres for any damage or things stuck in the tread. make sure the tyre pressure is correct. Refer to the hand book that came with your bike for the correct pressure.

And of course check the brakes. Look closly as you operate the brake lever to make sure the brakes are working corectly. and that they stop the bike with out a problem.

The LifeCycles have disk brakes and the tolerences are small, so they only need very tiny adjustments.

If you need any help or advise please call our service department on 02380 236 540

Take care of your bike and your bike take are of you.

ELECTRIC BIKES, ELECTRICAL MOUNTAIN BIKES

Electric Bike World Southampton is an electric bike company that specialises in electrically powered bicycles. Our electric mountain bikes are the best available. The best speed, the best distance and the best hill climbing ability.

All our bikes are made by hand, the light weight alloy frames will give you years of trouble free service, while keeping their good looks and these superb electric bicycles will really do the job, out there on the road where it really counts.

Electric bikes are only as good as their batteries, so our mountain bikes have the most powerful battery available, coupled with strong powerful motors. While companies just sell low powered bikes that look ok and seem cheap, but they don't deliver the performance you need to take you up the hills. Even our fold ups have big batteries and powerful motors, to make your life easier.

We have two types of fold up bikes, and both of them are perfect to take on holiday. Put them in the boot of your car and you will have practically free powered transport wherever you go.

The Explorer folding electric bike is ideal if you have a boat or caravan, it folds up into its own bag and will go into a surprisingly small space, yet opened up it is a proper sized bike.

The Traveller folding bike electric bike is unique to the Electric Bike World. Its elegant smart polished alloy frame sets it apart. The low step through frame makes it a real pleasure to ride. It even has front suspension. The Traveller is easily the best fold up electric bike on the market and fantastic value for money.

The Classic and Roadster are the perfect choice for motor home owners. They are inexpensive and fully loaded. Shimano gears, parcel rack, suspension and the latest Lighium battery technology, they are effortless to ride, and they go like the wind. If you have a motor home, you must get on of these electrically powered bikes.

LifeCycle Mountain Sport and City Sport. Simply the best electric bikes. Stunning to look at, packed with every top feature, and they go like hell! No other electric bike is able to keep up with it. Just try on and you can't help but agree
