The real benefit of hub driven electric bikes

This is the way they work.

When you start to pedal, after about one turn of the pedals the sensor tells the controller that the bike is being pedalled and the motor automatically comes on to assist you.

If you then stop pedalling and just coast along the motor turns off, and the bike glides along, begin pedalling again and it the motor stars up again.  

So the motor atomically starts and stops with your pedalling and you just ride it like an ordinary bike, but unlike an ordinary bike, because the motor assists you, LifeCycle electric bikes are really effortless to ride, particularly up hills.

These electric bikes are particularly powerful and fast, which is what you will need to assist you in daily use, it's just great whizzing along effortlessly, and you can choose on the speed selector how much assistance you want.

For example, sometimes you might not want to go so fast, maybe you just want to amble about. In this case use the three speed controller on the handlebars to select a lower speed, or you may prefer to have less assistance so you can pedal a bit harder, just choose a lower power setting to suit.

When you first turn the bike on with the key, it always selects the lower speed for safety, so if you want more speed just push the appropriate button for more power, and you can make all the selections while you are riding, there is no need to stop the bike.

In addition, there is a twist grip throttle on the right hand side of the handlebars. Just twist the throttle and the bike will take you along with no pedalling at all. So if you are feeling a bit tired after a long day you just want to rest your legs from pedalling you can use the throttle with no pedalling at all. And if you are really tired after a long bike ride, open the throttle and just sit there and the bike will take you home.

The LifeCycle Mountain Sport and the LifeCycle Alpine Sport electric bikes also have an "Off Road" facility to give extra speed and power. This facility is not allowed to be used on the road as it will enable the bike to exceed the maximum speed allowed by electric bikes.

This facility should only be engaged when the bike is being ridden off road.
